Setting: Rotterdam's trademark Groot Handelsgebouw, right next to Rotterdam Central Station.

Imagine you enter a building. Inside, you will be welcomed by guides explaining that you are starting a most wonderful journey. You weren't expecting this chance meeting. Excited, you make your way to the top floor of the building by elevator. Once you're there, you are escorted to the start of a rope. The objective is clear: Follow. The. Rope.

During this bizarre multidisciplinary route you make your way through the Groot Handelsgebouw. You are introduced to the obscure inside of this huge building. During your travels, you encounter absurd spaces, abstract intermezzos, intriguing performers and a squid.

Follow the Rope is a continuous performance installation that was free to enter during MoMo 2018. This project is made possible thanks to Motel Mozaique Festival. Follow the Rope was selected by MoMo as part of their 'guest programmers' initiative.
